The vocalist and keyboardist of Fleetwood Mac, Christine McVieauthor of some of the best-known songs of the British band, has died this Wednesday at the age of 79, as reported by his family in a statement.
“We would like to say that everyone keep Christine in their hearts and remember the life of an incredible human being and a revered musician who was universally loved,” quotes the letter collected by the British radio and television BBC.
McVie’s family has detailed that the artist’s death occurs after “a brief illness.” McVie was part of the band for 27 years, from 1971 to 1998, although it is true that in 2014 she announced her return to musical training.
Fleetwood Mac has also released a statement in which they have conveyed their “sadness” over the death of a McVie who, they say, was “truly one of a kind, special and talented.”
“She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life,” the band said on their Instagram social network profile.
Some of the most outstanding songs of the band, such as Everywhere, Don’t Stop o Songbirdamong others, bear the signature of the late British vocalist and keyboardist.
