Chris Klieman, Ryan Grubb, and Lance Leipold are some of the coaches that Washington could hire to replace Kalen DeBoer.

As of now, Alabama’s new coach, Nick Saban, is Kalen DeBoer, the coach of the Washington Huskies. He will be the college football world’s biggest focus. Between his time at Sioux Falls, Fresno State, and Washington, DeBoer has a 104-12 record.

He led the Huskies to a spot in the University Football Playoff National Championship, where they lost 34–13 to Michigan, capping off a perfect regular season.

Now that DeBoer has left, everyone in Seattle is wondering who will succeed him. DeBoer led the Huskies to a 25-3 record in his two seasons in charge.

Whoever gets the job will have to fill big shoes, and they’ll have to do it while also taking the team into its first season as an official Big Ten member in 2024.

Washington did not attempt to make a big deal out of its coaching hunts in the past. It promoted Jimmy Lake inside the organization after Chris Petersen stood down at the end of the 2019 season.

It then hired DeBoer from Fresno State, where he had been coach for two seasons and went 12-6.

Will Troy Dannen, who is in charge of athletics, do the same thing? If Washington is in the national spotlight, will it try to make the most of it by hiring a great to start a new era in the conference? Let’s look at some of the people who might be able to replace DeBoer.

After Kalen DeBoer left Seattle to take over for Nick Saban at Alabama, Washington is looking for a new head coach.

Even though DeBoer was only in charge of the Huskies for two years, they went 25-3 and made it to the national title game.

Since another signing day is approaching and there is a possibility of player transfer, Washington is likely to swiftly hire a replacement.

Since Washington occupies one of the best jobs in NCAA football, there will be a lot of big names on the short list. Moving the school to the Big Ten is going to be hard, but it will also bring more attention to Washington.

The school attempted to find a replacement within 72 hours after Nick Saban’s resignation as Alabama’s coach on Wednesday.

In the end, they hired Washington’s Kalen DeBoer on Friday, just in time. DeBoer had just led his team to the national title game.

This is a job that no coach would want to turn down, even if it meant following a great like Saban. To be fair, DeBoer is leaving behind a very good job, and starting in 2024, it will be a component of the very good Big Ten.

The Huskies just got back from their second trip to the College Football Playoff, so they have a lot of recent progress to make. Also, they can choose from a number of potential teachers right now, as there aren’t any other big gaps.

So, with that in mind, here are five names that could be good targets for Washington. There is talk that Fisch might be an option to take over for Kalen DeBoer, who is set to take over for Nick Saban in Alabama.

Would Fisch leave the Wildcats, who are likely to be in the running for the Big 12 title next season, for the Huskies, who just made it to the College Football National Championship Game and will be joining the Big Ten?

This past season, Fisch led Arizona to a 10-3 record, which put them third in the Pac-12 behind Washington and Oregon. After taking over a tough position, his future in Tucson looks very bright.

Because Nick Saban quit as head coach at Alabama, there is a lot of confusion in the college football coaching world right now.

The Alabama Crimson Tide will replace him with Kalen DeBoer, who is from Milbank, S.D., and is now in Washington. In other words, the Huskies need a new head coach.

Some people think that Chris Klieman, who recently finished his fifth year as head coach at Kansas State after leaving North Dakota State, could take over at Washington for DeBoer.
