MADRID, 25 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Argentine forward of CA Osasuna, Ezequiel 'Chimy' Ávila, suffers a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee, an injury that occurred this Friday against Levante (2-0) and that will foreseeably make him lose the remainder of season.
The 25-year-old player underwent tests at the University of Navarra Clinic on Saturday to determine the exact extent of the injury. “This morning he underwent an MRI that confirmed the initial suspicion, after the explorations carried out at the foot of the field,” the Navarrese club confirmed on Saturday.
Thus, the 'Chimy' suffers “a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee without meniscal involvement or other ligament structures.” “This means that both the internal and external lateral ligament are preserved,” highlights the Pamplona entity.
Osasuna has also reported that the Argentine will begin the rehabilitation process this week and the surgery will be scheduled “as soon as possible within the next few days”. However, he has not offered an estimated period of discharge, although the severity of the injury will cause him to miss the remainder of the course.
“Today begins a very important process for me, very hard, but it is an obstacle more than life puts me. Thank you all for the support and love, I will come back stronger than ever!” Said the 'Chimy' in his official account of the social network Twitter.
The 'Chimy' was injured in the 55th minute of the duel in El Sadar after making a strange gesture with his knee and had to be replaced by Rober Ibáñez. Osasuna won 2-0 to break a streak of five league games without knowing the victory.
