Chiara Ferragni, after being fined for fraud: apologizes and donates one million euros

Operation Laundering. Of image, of course. It is the one that the Italian Instagramer started this Monday, who has been fined 1,075 million euros for “unfair commercial practice.” Chiara Ferragni He assured that he would donate the proceeds from the sale of Pandoros to the fight against childhood cancer, but that was not the case. This Monday, she asked for forgiveness and explained what his next steps would be.

“I have always been convinced that the most fortunate have a moral responsibility to do good. These are the values that have always driven me and my family. This is what we teach our children. We also teach them that they can make mistakes, and that when it happens we must admit, and if possible, remedy the mistake made and cherish it. That is what I want to do now. I apologize and for this I will donate 1 million euros to the Regina Margherita hospital to support the care of the children,” said Chiara Ferragni through a video shared on social networks.

The Italian influencer, married to rapper Fedez, has announced that she will appeal the sanction because she considers that everything has been “a communication error.” As we said, Chiara assured that the sale of her signature Christmas cakes would be donated to the Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin to acquire machinery for the therapeutic treatment of children with cancer, but the truth is that the donation, of 50,000 euros, had been out months before. Of what was subsequently raised, more than a million euros, nothing was allocated to the hospital: “I realized that I had made a communication error. A mistake that I will treasure in the future, completely separating any charitable activity, which I have always done and will continue to do, of commercial activities. Because even if the final objective is good, if there has not been sufficient control over communication, misunderstandings can be generated.

Finally, he added: “Unfortunately a mistake can be made, I regret having done it and I realize that I could have been more attentive. But if the final sanction was lower than the one decided by the AGCM, the difference will be added to the million euros. In the coming days I will speak with Regina Margherita to understand how the hospital will use the sum I donated and I will periodically give you updates. My mistake remains, but I want to make sure that something constructive and positive emerges from this mistake.”
