MADRID, 16 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Mexican driver Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez, from the Red Bull Racing team, starred this Saturday night in the Red Bull Showrun event for the Community of Madrid, an exhibition on his Formula 1 car and which culminated with a tour of emblematic streets of the Spanish capital.
The central act, with ‘Checo’ Pérez at the wheel of the RB7 car, was to complete a route with the Plaza de Cibeles as the nerve center. The Mexican driver passed through Calle Alcalá and Paseo de Recoletos at Calle Prim, although his final route ruled out the vicinity of Puerta de Alcalá, as it is a protected monument.
The event began with a kart race with ‘influencers’ and Spanish drivers from different specialties. Out of a total of 60 Red Bull brand ambassadors, only eight had emerged victorious from the qualifying sessions held in the morning at the Carlos Sainz Karting in Las Rozas (Madrid).
At the foot of the Cibeles fountain itself, on the track temporarily built for this Showrun, the winners in karts were Dani Clos, Daniel Illescas and Yon González. After the awards ceremony by Dani Sordo and Gil Membrado, there was a freestyle rap battle between the MCs Arkano and Errecé.
While the fight between the two rappers heated up, the Spanish acrobat Horacio Llorens, paragliding legend who appears in the ‘Guinness Book of Records’, landed in Cibeles with a flyer to deliver it to ‘Checo’ Pérez. It was a good appetizer to later taste the exhibition on wheels of the Mexican pilot.
