‘Checo’ Pérez renews with Red Bull until 2024

MADRID, 31 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Mexican driver Sergio Pérez, known as ‘Checo’, has renewed this Tuesday with the Oracle Red Bull Racing team until 2024, extending his bond with the team by two years, as confirmed in a statement.

“Following his maiden win at the Monaco Grand Prix, Oracle Red Bull Racing is pleased to announce that Sergio Perez has committed his future to the team with a two-year extension to his current contract,” Red Bull announced.

The Mexican signed for the Austrian team at the end of 2020, and in his first season he achieved his best result in Formula 1 with 190 points and his fourth place in the World Championship, in a year in which he added his victory in the Grand Prix of Azerbaijan and four other podiums.

The 32-year-old driver, who signed this new contract before the Monaco race, is currently third in the Drivers’ Championship, with 110 points and four podiums, including the first pole position for a Mexican driver at the Saudi Grand Prix. Saudi Arabia and its historic victory at the Monaco GP.
