Check out the CU Buffs’ 2024 football schedule: This fall, you’ll see these people.

The Buffs will play on the field for the second time this fall, led by Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders. Buffalo also joins the Big 12 again in 2024, its first year since 2010 that it has been a member.

The Buffs’ first three games are not in the same conference. Their first game is at Folsom Field on August 31 toward North Dakota State.

After that game, on September 7, they will go on the road to play rivals Nebraska, and on September 14, they will go to Colorado State.

As of this season, CU said the last moment the Buffs played both in Lincoln and Fort Collins was in 1996. That was also the endure time Colorado played Colorado State.

Colorado’s 2024 season ends on November 29, 2024, at home against Oklahoma State. This is the day after Thanksgiving.

Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas Tech, Arizona, Utah, Central Florida, and Cincinnati are nine of the 15 conference teams that the Buffs will play this season. They were the first to report on the deal.

Kansas said on Tuesday that while its campus stadium is being fixed up, some of its home games will be played at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, which is home to the Kansas City Chiefs. The game for Colorado on November 23 will take place at the NFL stadium.

Sources told ESPN that offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik will stay at the Texans for the 2024 season, even though he interviewed with teams for head coaching jobs. A source said that his new contract includes a big pay raise.

Slowik had job interviews with the Atlanta Falcons, the Carolina Panthers, the Washington Commanders, and the Seattle Seahawks.

The Panthers, Titans, and Falcons hired someone else, but the Commandos and Seahawks jobs remain open.

And Slowik isn’t the only offensive brain trust member who’s staying put. ABC’s Adam Schefter got word from sources that quarterback instructor Jerrod Johnson will stay in Houston.

Johnson had interviews to be the offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints, the Cleveland Browns, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New England Patriots, and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Slowik and Johnson were very important to Stroud’s great rookie year. The No. 2 pick tossed for 4,108 yards, making him the fifth rookie to throw for more than 4,000 yards.

He was the first rookie to lead the league in touchdowns to interceptions (23 to 5), and he also threw for 273.9 yards per game on average.

“In my job, Bobby was always upon me about the little things, which I liked because you seldom get that.

“He was always mean to me, but he also loved me a lot—a ton,” Stroud said on January 22, after the 34-10 loss of the Baltimore Ravens in the round.

“Knows a lot and can tear a defense apart.” Never got astray from what he knows and has a lot of faith in his group. He did what was right for the Texans, but he also did what was in his heart, and I liked that.

It was the 15th-best offense in terms of total offense (336), points scored (22.7), and passing yards per game (243).

The unit was very important in coach DeMeco Ryan’s first year as a leader. They helped the team win the AFC South regional title for the first time in 2019 and beat the Browns 45–14 in the round of wild cards.

In the past few weeks, Slowik has met with several NFL teams to interview for head coaching jobs.

The two open head coaching jobs are with the Seattle Seahawks or the Washington Commanders. This month, Slowik did interviews with both teams.

After the Texans went 10–7 and won the AFC South, the 36-year-old coordinator chose to stay with the team. When hired offseason, Slowik was in charge of one of the best offenses in the league.

QB C.J. Stroud had a great first season under Slowik’s offense and is one of the nominees for the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2023.

Stroud was the No. 2 pick in the 2023 draft. He threw for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions within 15 games during the regular season.
