Cesc Fàbregas hangs up his boots and will train the Como 1907 subsidiary

MADRID, 1 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish soccer player Cesc Fàbregas announced this Saturday his “moment to hang up his boots”, after more than two successful decades active, and also that he will immediately become coach of the subsidiary and youth teams of Como 1907, the Italian club where He has lived his last games competing in Serie B.

“With great sadness the time has come to hang up my boots. I will cherish every moment, from the first days at Barça, Arsenal, the return as a blaugrana, Chelsea, Monaco and finally Como. Since lifting the World Cup and the Eurocups until winning everything in England and Spain, and almost all the European trophies. It has been a trip that I will never forget”, expressed Fàbregas through his social networks.

“To everyone who has helped me, my teammates, coaches, managers, presidents, club owners, fans and my agent. To all my family, from my parents and sister to my wife and children, I appreciate your advice, mentoring and guide. To my rivals who tried to knock me out, thank you for making me stronger,” he continued in his statement.

Furthermore, the midfielder admitted that his career had already been “more than worth it” for “all the great memories and friends” made “along the way.” “I’ve also learned three languages, and I’ve grown more compassionate and wise throughout my travels. I’ve had experiences I never thought in a million years I’d come close to,” he added.

In the same way, he confirmed that he will start “training the B and Primavera teams” of Como 1907, in his words “a club and a project that excites me a lot”. “This charming football team won my heart from the first minute and it came to me at the perfect moment in my career. I will grab it with both hands”, stressed the former Catalan player.

“So after 20 incredible years full of sacrifice, dedication and joy, it’s time to say thank you and goodbye to the beautiful game. I loved every minute”, added a Fàbregas who was part of the most successful generation in the history of the national team Spain, including the World Cup won in South Africa in 2010.
