Certina, official timekeeper at the Cross-Country Ski World Cup

MADRID, 21 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Certina is the official timekeeper of the Cross-Country Ski World Cup of the International Federation (FIS) from the start of this 2022-23 season, on November 25 at the Finnish resort of Ruka and for the next four years.

This weekend at Holmenkollen, in Oslo (Norway), the men’s 50-kilometre freestyle event was held in a discipline steeped in great tradition and surprisingly contemporary in a natural environment, an analogy it shares with the watchmaking brand Certina, which places enormous value on The sustainability.

“Sport is and has always been an important component of brand image. We are fascinated by the contact with nature so characteristic of cross-country skiing,” said Marc Aellen, CEO of Certina.

Simen Hegstad Krueger, three-time world champion, won this Saturday in 1 hour, 55 minutes and 1.5 seconds, ahead of his Norwegian compatriots, Hans Christer Holund, 5.7 seconds away; and Martin Loewstroem Nyenget, third at 12.6 seconds. Norway occupied the top 10 positions.

With a long history in the world of sports timing, this association constitutes a commitment for the Biena watchmaking house, as highlighted by Marc Aellen, CEO of the brand.

“We are very excited to be able to contribute to the FIS Cross-Country World Cup as official timekeeper this season. Certina is not only linked to this discipline due to its long history, but we also share similar values: endurance , perseverance and precision are maxims that drive us every day to develop our watches,” he said.
