RC Celta celebrated the centenary of its foundation this Wednesday, with the unveiling by the president of the Galician club, Carlos Mouriño, and the Board of Directors of a commemorative plaque at the Juan Compañel Library, the place where the merger between the Vigo Sporting Club and Real Club Fortuna that would generate the current entity.
The Juan Compañel Public Library, the former Patrons Union Foundation, hosted the important event in the hundred-year history of the Celtiña club. It was there that on August 23, 1923, the document was signed in which the Vigo Sporting Club and the Real Club Fortuna joined to give birth to RC Celta.
The celebrations for the Centenary will continue this Friday before the game of the third day of LaLiga EA Sports 2023-2024 against Real Madrid. Starting early in the afternoon, there will be a series of activities for Celtists of all ages with children’s entertainment, face painting, inflatables and batukada.
Music will also be the protagonist, with performances by the groups Dakidarría and Keltoi. In addition, in the moments prior to the start of the game in Abanca Balaídos, all the Celtistas will be able to enjoy the Centenary anthem accompanied by the display of a typhus and the premiere of a light show that will go to the sound of the composition of C. Tangana.
The Centenary celebrations will be completed with the ‘Partido de Lendas’. A meeting that will be held on August 30 and in which legends who contributed to magnify the history of the club will participate.
