Cavani, Raúl Jiménez, Dzeko, Gerard Moreno … scorers in the market for Madrid

The first official game of the season for Real Madrid did not end in the best way: 0-0 in Anoeta against Real Sociedad. It was not at all an important setback, since the realistic fiefdom is one of the most complicated in LaLiga and a draw there can never be called a failure, but it did show two opposing realities: Madrid is still a rock in defense and a team with certain deficiencies in attack.

Nothing new under the sun, that's how he gave Madrid to lift the last League title after confinement, with ten consecutive victories in which he showed that forcefulness: 19 goals in favor, only four against, six duels defeated by the minimum and three of them, 1-0 or 0-1. However, Anoeta's draw has rekindled an old debate: does Madrid need a center forward? If Jovic leaves on loan, as Madrid intends, is only Benzema enough for the white team? The market offers, for the moment, some alternatives that Madrid would do well to observe if it values reinforcing itself in the attack zone.

Cavani (free agent)

At 33, he has ended his contract at PSG and was about to sign for Benfica; he asked for ten million clean per seasons and the Lisbon team could only reach eight. Atleti wants him, but it seems that he will go for Suárez finally after obtaining this, in principle, the letter of freedom from Barcelona in exchange for giving up a part of the card he had signed.

Cavani would be willing to wear the white shirt and his numbers support him: 97 goals in Naples and 168 in Paris, where he has become the top gunner in the history of the French club. His last season at PSG did not go well for him: substitute for Icardi, he still scored seven goals in just over a thousand minutes. If he overcomes physical problems, he is a current forward: in 2018-19 he scored 23 goals and in 2017-18, 40. It would arrive for free, although it would ask for a salary that Madrid, now that it has managed to get James and Bale out, should in principle be able to pay.

Dzeko (Rome)

Juventus has him tied, but it will not be made official until Milik, from Naples, signs for the Italian capital team as a replacement for the Bosnian. Madrid could still get in the middle of the operation for a player who has been scoring goals for years, in Wolfsburg, in City and in Rome.

The Bosnian drops the goals: 279 in his career. At 34 years old, he is valued at 10 million euros by Transfermarkt, although probably Roma would ask for something more for him. He's still fit: 19 goals and 13 assists last season, despite Roma finishing fifth.

Gerard Moreno (Villarreal)

The third top scorer in the 2019-20 League and the first national striker, with 18 goals. Almost 120 goals throughout his career support him and this season he has already had two. Valued at 30 million euros. An affordable player with recognized efficiency in Spanish football, it would be necessary to see how he would adapt to a team of the highest level. In the lower echelon, both at Espanyol and at Villarreal, he has done well.

Raúl Jiménez (Wolverhampton)

At 29 years old, the former Atleti and renowned Madridista, was in the orbit of Juventus. In the rojiblanco team he had no luck: the stands took his registration for his past tweets in which he openly encouraged Madrid and when he played, he did not have much fortune. His explosion at Wolverhampton has been stupendous: last year, 27 goals and 10 assists. Its estimated price is about 40 million euros. Juventus thought of him as a substitute for Higuaín, but ended up discarding him.

Other options

These are some of the possibilities: Ben Yedder, scorer for Monaco and who knows the League well thanks to his seasons in Seville; Immobile, last season's Golden Boot thanks to his 36 goals in Lazio; or Lautaro, the one desired by Barcelona, who has not been able to access it due to lack of liquidity (he was able to take it away without negotiating, paying 111 million).
