Castro does not clarify the controversy with Morocco over En-Nesyri’s injury

The president of Sevilla, José Castro, has come up against the controversy raised between the Andalusian club and the Moroccan Federation over the muscle injury of Youssef En-Nesyri, whose recovery time according to the medical report issued by Sevilla is 2 to 3 months and that the doctors of the North African team, after examining the player, estimate it to be 2 or 3 weeks.

In the background of this controversy may be the Africa Cup, which takes place between January 9 and February 6 and that would leave Julen Lopetegui without three players from his squad, goalkeeper Bono, forward Munir El Haddadi and named scorer for about a month. Sevilla slipped that En-Nesyri could miss the appointment and the Moroccan coach, Vahid Halilhodzic, ironic with this forecast: “I have heard that it can be 2-3 months, maybe 2-3 years, it depends on who says it.” He expressed on the occasion of the press conference after the match that Morocco won in Sudan (0-3) last week.

The president of Sevilla was asked about this matter in an interview on ‘Cadena Cope’. “What I’m telling you is reality. “We don’t know what En-Nesyri’s recovery time is. It can be more or less days. We are awaiting the tests they are doing. Less is better, because we need it. But it is not a whim to hide anything, it is like that, there are injuries that cannot be defined as much, ”Castro explained.

The top president insisted that the player is awaiting new medical tests. “Rectification is important if it is to improve. It is a strange injury and it is not the same injury (the first one that occurred at Sevilla-Espanyol). The player recovers, but when he begins to play he has another one and we do not know whether to combine it with the previous one. It is different and requires tests, infiltrations and other issues that I do not master, and those tests will tell us what the reality is. He is an important player and we all want him to play again ”, he argued.
