Casado castles in Genoa and postpones a National Board of Directors for next Monday

After nine hours meeting with the Executive Committee of the PP, he decided to extend the time and convene the National Board of Directors for next Monday. The territorial power of the Popular Party took the initiative.

The barons, headed by the president of the Xunta, have decided press and indent votes which has been precipitated since last Thursday, as a result of the accusations made by Génova 13 towards Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

The Executive Committee is divided in two by Egea and by the solution of an extraordinary Congress

After a series of conversations -in front of a committee very divided by whether or not to remain in the position of Teodoro Garcia Egeaor for the solution to the critical situation that the Popular Party is experiencing (on the one hand those faithful to Casado: Teodoro García Egea, Ana Beltrán, Antonio González Terol and Pablo Montesinos; and on the other: Cuca Gamarra, Javier Maroto, Elvira Rodríguez, Jaime Olano, Dolors Montserrat, Andrea Levy and Belén Hoyo) – Alberto Núñez Feijóo, Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla and Isabel Díaz Ayuso decided to join forces.

These three barons, to whom others have been added, propose a way out of the PP crisis, and urge a Extraordinary Congress in March. That means the dismissal of the current leadership, which today is castling and placing the congress for the month of July. It should be remembered that for the celebration of a congress of these characteristics the support of 2/3 of the national Executive is needed.

Feijoo’s leadership

Early on Monday, the Galician leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, urged Pablo Casado to make urgent decisions, “last decision and assume responsibility.” This is how he expressed it before the media given the situation of collapse that the center-right formation is experiencing.

Nuñez Feijóo revealed that he had maintained a telephone conversation with Pablo Casado on Sunday – like other leaders -, he had already expressed his opinion, therefore “he knows what I think in a clear and sharp way,” said the Galician.

Hours earlier, that same day -according to what this newspaper has learned-, the president of the Xunta made a round of contacts with the rest of the regional barons, collecting a fairly generalized conclusion, and it is the celebration of an extraordinary Congress to elect a new party leadership, no later than March.

If so, the party must be governed by a provisional or managing director. And there the name of Ana Pastor sounds, a trusted person of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and also someone of consensus within the popular formation.

Apparently, in those conversations between Feijóo and the barons, Díaz Ayuso announced that his intention is not to compete for the national race, and his interest is confined to the Community of Madrid.

Although it seems a popular cry that Alberto Núñez Feijóo be anointed leader of the Popular Party in March, the truth is that the Galician president avoided revealing whether he will take a step forward in this regard. In that adhesion of supports, the only discordant voice was that of the president of MurciaFernando López Miras, who once again defended the work carried out by the Secretary General, Teodoro García Egea.
