FC Cartagena beat CD Eldense 1-2 in matchday 3 of LaLiga Hypermotion, which also saw the first wins of the season this Sunday for CD Castellón (0-2 against Burgos CF) and Deportivo de La Coruña (1-0 against Racing de Ferrol), while CD Mirandés drew 0-0 at home against Real Zaragoza.
At the Nuevo Pepico Amat, the home side took the lead in the 29th minute with a long-range free kick by Joel Jorquera that went in without anyone touching the ball. Cartagena equalised in the 57th minute, thanks to a penalty converted by Andy Rodríguez, and five minutes later they came back after a slalom by ‘Pocho’ Román, who embellished it with a low left-footed shot into the back of the net.
This result marked the first victory for ‘Efesé’ (3 pts.) and left the club from Elda in the middle of the table with four points, the same as Castellón and Burgos after the victory of the ‘orelluts’ in El Plantío with goals from Douglas Aurélio (64′) and Álex Calatrava (69′).
One point below in the table is Deportivo, whose victory in the Galician derby was forged with a low right-footed shot from Yeremay Hernández from the left corner of the Ferrol area, which lodged in the net next to the far post. Racing remains without a win and is in the relegation zone, the opposite of a Zaragoza still undefeated and with seven points.
However, after two victorious games, the team from Zaragoza came up empty during their visit to Anduva. In this sense, Mirandés continues to be in the playoff for promotion with five points, so they will be keeping an eye on what happens this Monday in the SD Eibar vs Levante UD duel.
