Carolina Marín accesses the quarterfinals of the Badminton World Cup without hassle

MADRID, 24 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish badminton player Carolina Marín won this Thursday 21-10 and 21-18 against the Burmese Thet Htar Thuzar and, thanks to this, qualified for the quarterfinals of the World Cup in the absolute category, which is being held in Copenhagen ( Denmark).

Marín began dominating on the scoreboard, with a 4-1 run that gradually expanded and without suffering any hassles from her opponent. In the final stretch of that first set, the Huelva player took off until closing it by a margin of 11 points.

Facing the second set, Thuzar improved and led 3-0, keeping Marín’s momentum even though she came back (6-6, 9-9, 12-12). But from 14-16, something changed and the Andalusian found loopholes in her rival’s defense to turn the score around and seal the final victory with a +3.

In that round of the quarterfinals, the Huelva native will face the winner of the match between the Thai Pornpawee Chochuwong and the Taiwanese Tzu-ying Tai, which will be played this Thursday.
