Carmen Maura talks about reincarnation and trouble: “I don’t feel like anything, imagine that you have to be a woman in Gaza, with the bombs”

The veteran actress is presenting her new film these days, My other Jon, a song to life and hope from the Aladina Foundation. He has spoken precisely about his life Carmen Maura this Tuesday in a talk with Ana Rosa Quintana. She assures that hers, at 78 years old, “is full of dramas” but that she would not change it for another: “I don’t feel like reincarnation at all, imagine that you have to be a woman in Gaza, with the bombs and everything.” Some uncomfortable words that have not gone unnoticed on social networks.

The first ‘Almodóvar girl’ has assured, however, that she does believe in the afterlife: “I had a dog that died but it took a long time to leave my house. And then I am sure that she gave a few lessons to the baby who came, that he was of the same race, that suddenly he had a wisdom that I had not taught him about things.

Maura also believes that she has “a guardian angel” who has protected her a lot: “Although personally she has gotten a little confused, I have already told her.” And Carmen’s life has not been easy at all: “I’m full of drama. I chose my husbands very badly, the problems I had with my children… If I hadn’t been an actress, I would be quite crazy. I have never been to a psychoanalyst, my work has been my therapy”.

Now, she is going through one of her best moments: “I am living alone and I would no longer bring anyone into the house (…) I love doing what I want, you don’t ask anyone, that question of ‘What are we having for dinner today?’ or ‘What are we doing tomorrow?’ That would overwhelm me, I live alone and I’m happy.” She doesn’t even consider falling in love again: “I have a lot of fun with my characters, I really enjoy filming.”
