Carmen Alcayde announces in tears that she is separating after 19 years of marriage: “I am devastated”

Carmen Alcayde (49) has announced that she has separated from Edu, her husband and father of her three children, Carmen, Eduardo and Olivia: “We had been together for thirty years, married for 19. It’s very difficult and I’m screwed.”

The Valencian has said that she took off the wedding ring just a few days ago: “I wasn’t going to take it off because it was part of me but the other part took it off and that’s it… I was embarrassed to leave it in a drawer”. Alcayde has assured that the decision has been made by mutual agreement but that is not why it is easier: “I am in the process of separation and I am devastated, it has been a very difficult decision but it has been carefully considered and I think it was the right one. The relationship was good, we were very close friends but we had a rope and each one pulled to one side. He wanted to do some things, I others, we argued about silly things and we deserved the opportunity to see what we can do separately. We have three children and we have done it for them, so they can see their parents happy.

The journalist added: “We were at a very different time in life, we did not complement each other. There are no good and bad, just different, we were not connected and I think we will be happier apart, my children too.”

Carmen has spoken with great affection about her still husband but has confessed that she needs time for herself: “I need to find myself, I am a woman, a mother, a worker and Carmen was not there… I want to find Carmen and see how she is. I haven’t been alone for 30 years and I want to be alone”.
