-The coronation ceremony will last less time, from more than three hours to just over an hour.

-The list of guests at the ceremony will probably be reduced from 8,000 to 2,000.

-There has been discussion about a more relaxed dress code. Diplomats and other male guests at the 1953 coronation were instructed to wear “knee-length trousers”, while women were advised to wear headgear, preferably tiaras.

-Velvet chairs made especially for the 1953 coronation are likely to be replaced with standard seats.

-To save time, old and long rituals, such as the delivery of gold bars to the monarch, will be suppressed.

-There will be more religious and cultural diversity.

-Prince William is likely to play a major role in planning the ceremony.

-The 1762 gold State coach, which was renovated for the queen’s Platinum Jubilee, will once again be part of the coronation procession.

It is understood that with these decisions the husband of Camilla Parker Bowles he wants his coronation to set the tone for a modern monarchy, while retaining some of the majesty that stunned the world during his mother’s funeral ceremonies.
