With a three-tier white fondant cake, with a crown, wedding knife in hand and with a smile from ear to ear. This is how King Charles III started the celebration of his 75th birthday, at a tea party in Highgrove Garden this Monday the 13th, the eve of his birthday.
Choir, music, applause and dancing accompanied the monarch in a party that brought together friends of his generation, who also blew out 75 candles this year. At the time of cutting the cake, Charles III was gossiping about the fondant filling. Jokingly and hesitantly, he urged his guests to try a slice and asked if he could “donate” it, as he posts Daily Mail. He even joked that there were “doggie bags.” The pre-party, with all the Christmas decorations installed, marks the prelude to the anniversary celebrations.
With Camilla Carlos, this Tuesday the 14th will launch the Coronation Food Project a national campaign to prevent food waste. Afterwards, he will chair a reception that will take place at Buckingham Palace and will be attended by nurses and midwives (remember that Charles’s birthday coincides with the 75th anniversary of the National Health System). In the afternoon, the private birthday party will take place. It will be at Clarence House and will be marked by the absence of Harry, who is not invited, as some media have reported.
