Carlos III cuts the salary of Prince Andrés: he will have to evict Royal Lodge if he cannot maintain it

Prince Andrew of England and his ex-wife Sarah FergusonThey are very concerned, and even distressed, by the threat of eviction from the mansion that they and their two daughters have occupied, the princess beatrice and the princess eugeniebecause the King Charles III It will reduce Andrés’ economic allowance and he will not be able to pay for the expensive maintenance of the Royal Lodge mansion, which they have occupied for 19 years. The king’s brother and his family, including Fergie, who occupies the house when he is in England, will have to vacate their Windsor mansion next summer, which is owned by the royal family and is worth 30 million pounds.

Andrés received the notice barely two months after the death of his mother, the Queen isabel II of England, and has very few months to resolve the situation, which occurred after his loss of income, after renouncing his official royal duties and ceasing to receive the 249,000 pounds a year budget of the Duchy of York.

The concern has been known after announcing from the royal house that King Carlos would cut the annual income that Andrés receives as a duke. The second son of Elizabeth II has already recognized among his friends that without that amount, he may not be able to pay the running costs of the property.

Prince Andrew had previously been warned that his income could be reduced when a senior royal pranked him last Christmas and loudly said: “We’ll kick Andrew out of the house.” For the king’s brother it was an unpleasant surprise to learn that his annual allowance would be reduced from April.

According to sources close to the family, the newspaper The SunAndrés and Sarah are very concerned because they have been notified with very little notice, just a few months: “They are not being explicitly expelled, but it is expected that they will not be able to pay maintenance,” sources close to the duke have revealed.

Before the late Queen’s death, Andrew seems to have relied on her generosity to survive on private funds from the Duchy of Lancaster, which last reported that £249,000 a year budget. However, the cut in his income ordered by his brother will force him to rely only on his Navy pension, which is not enough to maintain the mansion in which he lives.

Andrés’s house is now Carlos’s

The mansion was leased to the prince after the death of the Queen Mother. She moved in in 2004 with his two daughters, Beatriz and Eugenia, and it is there that Sarah Ferguson lives when she is not traveling. Fergie has already explained on some occasion that they decided that she would live in the mansion as long as she was in the United Kingdom: “I am lucky to stay at Royal Lodge. I would not call it my home because it would be presumptuous. We are the happiest divorced couple in the world “, because the relationship is so good between the two that they have even had to deny on some occasion that they had gotten back together.

Andres had recently been asked by the royal institution to pay for renovations to the house himself, which was reportedly around £7.5 million. Following his mother’s death in September 2022, the property royal now belongs to King Carlos III, who is determined to manage it with tighter budgets. The Royal Lodge mansion is located in Windsor Great Park, about three miles from Elizabeth II’s main residence, Windsor Castle.

According to publish Mirror, it is a sprawling property worth £30 million that has 30 rooms, a swimming pool and 98 acres of land. Along with the main house, the lease included the Gardener’s Cottage, Chapel Lodge, six Lodge Cottages, police security accommodation and a whopping 40 hectares of land.

The situation is worrisome for the prince and his ex-wife, but not hopeless, because they have a 75-year lease and simply cannot be evicted. However, the prince must seek his financial solvency if he wants to keep his house. You have to remember that he has had to make a multimillion-dollar outlay to his American accuser, Virginia Giuffre, whose claims of abuse he has always denied. Now, Andrés wants to challenge the terms of that agreement, but he knows that it will cost him another legal battle, and a very expensive one.
