MADRID, 28 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, current number two in the world, will prepare the assault on Wimbledon grass, the third ‘Grand Slam’ of the season, playing the Queen’s tournament, as confirmed by the organizers on Tuesday.
The Murcian was announced by the organization of one of the events on grass that serve as a prelude to the ‘big’ Londoner along with the Americans Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe, who join the Italian Matteo Berrettini.
“It is an honor to come to the Queen’s tournament this year, to a place with so much history, of great champions and where everyone knows that the quality of the grass courts is among the best in the world,” said the man from El Palmar in the event website.
This will be the first time that Carlos Alcaraz has played this tournament and also the first time since he made the leap to the professional circuit that he has competed in an event on grass to prepare for Wimbledon, since in his two previous participations, in 2021 and 2022, he did not play None of the regulars on the calendar prior to the third ‘Grand Slam’ of the year.
