Carlos Alcaraz goes to Marbella for his fourth Challenger

Carlos Alcaraz, champion this year in the ATP Challenger of Trieste, Barcelona and Alicante, and finalist of the Cordenons, will try to add his fourth title in the category at the Anytech365 Marbella Tennis Open, whose preliminary phase started on Saturday and which will play its final draw from Monday, October 26 to Sunday, November 1, behind closed doors except for the last four days, from the round of 16, with limited capacity.

The 17-year-old from Murcia and 136th in the world, who is not seeded, nevertheless leaves as one of the main candidates for the trophy for his career so far this season. He will face Italian Lorenzo Giustino in the first round, and if he advances, on his way, since nothing is easy a priori, Jaume Munar (6th favorite), Roberto Carballés (4th) and Federico Coria (1st) could cross the ranking before a hypothetical final against Pedro Martínez (2nd). In favor of Alcaraz's options is the fact that in the Alicante final he beat Bosnian Damir Dzumhur, 114th in the current ranking, but who became 23rd in 2018.

Much level that will be seen in Marbella, with players who have competed this year with victories in Grand Slams and in which there will be other Spaniards such as veteran Tommy Robredo, Mario Vilella, Carlos Taberner, Nicola Kuhn, Bernabé Zapata and Carlos Gómez, plus some who can enter from qualifying, such as the young man and Alcaraz's teammate in the JC Ferrero Equelite Carlos Gimeno. Also noteworthy are Colombian Daniel Elahi Galán, who faced Djokovic in the third round of Roland Garros, or Italian Gianluca Mager (3rd), a finalist in the last Rio Open.

Tables and program.
