BARCELONA, 5 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The coach of Joventut de Badalona, Carles Duran, showed his joy after beating Barça at the Palau and drawing the Endesa League ‘Playoff’ series (1-1), so playing two games in Badalona is “a party ” who expects it to become “hell” for the Catalans.
“It’s a prize for the team and for the fans to bring Barça to the Olimpic for two games. But what I do want is for that party to turn into hell. All of Badalona has to be there and try to achieve the same thing we did today” , acknowledged the technician at a press conference.
Duran thanked the Joventut fans who came to the Palau for the first two games. “We have felt them and we have felt supported, especially in a field that puts a lot of pressure on the Barça fans, who are very demanding,” he added.
“If you don’t play a great game it’s very difficult to win here, history shows it. The team did very well and we went from room to room in the game, correcting things we did wrong in the first quarter and the team responded better to the idea that we put forward”, he said about the victory where they have shown that they can also fight “against the best”.
Asked if they have dominated the match, the ‘Penya’ coach denied it. “The first half was very even, but in the first few minutes it was Joventut and then it was Barça. At the beginning of the third quarter is when we began to dominate, but the first half was very even”, he concluded.
