Carla Suárez is forced to resign from the Western & Southern Open, whose preliminary phase begins on August 20 in New York, due to the medical condition that he has been suffering in recent weeks. The Canarian, who has gone through outbreaks of general discomfort in her training routines, is subject to the evolution of her clinical picture over the next few days.

“During the last weeks I have not been able to train normally due to the internal sensations that physical activity produces in me”, indicates Carla from Barcelona, ​​where her preparation plan has been interrupted since the middle of July. “This has prevented me from completing training sessions on the track and has greatly limited my activity in the gym.”

Suárez has undergone different medical tests to try to identify the origin of his symptoms, without a clear diagnosis to date. This next week a PET CT scan will be performed, aimed at exploring the thoracic area, in order to determine the cause of the discomfort.

“I will follow the medical recommendations at all times. This next week I need to complete more tests and this forces me to postpone my planned trip to New York. We are going to observe the evolution of these days, the results of these checks and that will determine my decision on the US Open ”.

Prudence forces Carla to rest in general while waiting to be able to make a final decision about her participation in the Flushing Meadows Grand Slam, whose main draw starts on August 31st.
