Carballés eliminates Fognini

The Spanish Roberto Carballés eliminated the Italian Fabio Fognini in the round of 16 of the tournament in Bastad (Sweden), which is played on clay, by winning by 6-3, 1-6 and 6-4 in 2 hours and 6 minutes of the game. After signing up for the first set, the Canarian tennis player, Fognini, number 31 in the ATP world rankings, reacted and scored the second set 1-6.

In the final set, Carballés again took command on the scoreboard and the tenth game managed to break the Italian's duty turn, for the second time, and score the victory. Carballés will face, in the quarterfinals, with the Slovak Norbert Gombos, who beat Finnish Emil Ruusuvuori 6-2, 6-4.
