Cameron Beaubier, prophet in his land with the ‘pole’ in Moto2

MADRID, 9 Apr. (SportsFinding) –

The American rider Cameron Beaubier (Kalex) got the first pole position of his career this Saturday by setting the best time in the Moto2 category of the Grand Prix of the Americas, also beating the absolute record of the famous ‘corkscrew’.

Beaubier, a great connoisseur of the American track, put his skills into practice to score the first World Cup pole of his career. He also set the outright record for the track with a 2:08.751, following in the footsteps of Kenny Noyes and Joe Roberts as previous American polemen.

The 29-year-old Californian ended up beating the current championship leader, Celestino Vietti (Kalex), by more than 3 tenths, after overcoming his problems in the first section of the circuit, while the Spanish Aron Canet (Kalex) completed the front row from the grid with a timer of 2:09.283.

For their part, the also Spanish Albert Arenas (Kalex), Jorge Navarro (Kalex), Fermín Aldeguer (Boscoscuro) -the fastest in Friday’s free practice- and Pedro Acosta (Kalex) reaped a place in the ‘top ten’ with the fifth, seventh, eighth and tenth position, respectively.
