Café Gijón denies Beatriz Cortázar: they are neither bankrupt nor have they ‘signed’ Íñigo Onieva

Not even 24 hours has taken the mythical Café Gijón to deny the information that the journalist Beatriz Cortázar advanced this Monday and in which she assured that Iñigo Onieva had associated with a group of investors to rescue the emblematic place from ruin and return it to its golden age : “We want to flatly deny the news”.

The statement, shared on their social networks, is emphatic: “It is absolutely false that Café Gijón has been sold to anyone and it is completely unfounded, false and malicious that we are in bankruptcy or bankruptcy.” They continue: “We continue working for our clients and friends with the same enthusiasm that we inherited from our predecessors and there we intend to continue for another 135 years at the service of Madrid residents and visitors.” Currently, the establishment is managed by the children of Gregorio Escamilla, better known as Goyo, who died in 2019.

The address does not mention Inigo Onieva nor to his possible incorporation to the team.
