Cádiz improves, but does not win

Cádiz improves, but does not win. De Tomás, in the last play, sank the morale of the yellow team, who brushed the first victory of the season at the Nuevo Mirandilla with their fingers. Morlanes put the visitors ahead in the first half and Negredo and Alejo (the latter in the 91st minute) put the score at 2-1, before De Tomás left Nuevo Mirandilla speechless. Espanyol began as if it were playing in the garden of its house and with tremendous ease he planted himself in front of Ledesma’s goal. We didn’t have to wait long for him to turn that dominance into a goal. Darder picked up a ball in the opposite field and found a gap between the defense with a perfect pass for Morlanes to make it 0-1 against Ledesma. Each goal feels like a jug of cold water in Cádiz, which takes a world to assimilate the goal to go on the attack. However, yesterday things were different and after fitting in, he tried with two arrivals from Lozano and Perea. Unlucky.

Cádiz adjusted lines and kept trying whenever they stole. Of course, Vicente Moreno’s men did not have much trouble either, since their rival always failed at the decisive moment (center or shot). Shortly before the break, Sergio’s men demanded a penalty from Lozano. Nothing punishable. With the yellows more aware of the non-penalty than of the match, Espanyol had three arrivals to sentence the match, but Embarba, Puado and De Tomás were not successful against Ledesma. And you know, whoever fails ends up paying for it. In the second half, when Cádiz was at its worst, the locals’ equalizer came. A goal that came in fits and starts, after several rebounds in a center by Iza that Negredo picked up to insert it into the goal. Cádiz resurfaced.

After the goal came the best minutes for the yellows, with several arrivals in which Diego López had to intervene. Vicente Moreno’s men were slow to react, but they ended up doing so with a good shot from De Tomás that made Ledesma work hard. Anyone could win. Cádiz celebrated the 2-1 on two occasions with two goals from Negredo, but first Muñiz Ruiz and then González González, from the VAR annulled both goals. The first has no discussion, clear hand; the second is more debatable. It was not valid due to a slight touch between Sobrino and Diego López.

Sergio’s men kept trying with what were probably the best minutes of the season, with a Nuevo Mirandilla trying to carry his own. The goal had to come and it came in 91′. Negredo completed his great match with a rogue assist to Alejo in a throw-in. Alejo faced Diego López and beat him with a cross shot to make it 2-1. ecstasy in the stands, It seemed that the first victory would finally come, but fate had a macabre ending in store: De Tomás, on the last play, finished off a cross from Darder, after an oversight in Espino’s mark. Cruel ending for a Cádiz that deserved the victory.
