MADRID, 12 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
This Saturday, the Federation of Supporters Clubs of Cádiz CF unfurled a large banner at the Nuevo Mirandilla, at the start of the match played against Celta de Vigo, corresponding to matchday 24 of the Santander League (0-0), asking Luis Rubiales, president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, to “fix the VAR”.
“Luis, fix the VAR”, indicated the banner located in the upper and lower stands of the old Ramón de Carranza’s preference area. A protest that comes after the controversy experienced against Mallorca last week, when the Andalusian team fell 2-1 after two highly discussed penalties.
This week the president of Cádiz, Manuel Vizcaíno, already published an open letter to Rubiales in the same terms. “President, fix the issue of VAR, urgently so as not to be the laughing stock of a football that is supposed to be elite, and that with this type of decision we go back forty years,” he said.
“I feel ashamed and indignant, Luis. I reiterate that we have a lot at stake, it has cost us a lot of work to get here, we just want justice and equal criteria for all,” Vizcaíno indicated in his letter.
