Cádiz continues on the SailGP Season 4 calendar

MADRID, 5 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Cádiz will continue to be part of the SailGP calendar, one of the most spectacular and fast sailing competitions, the organizers announced this Wednesday when they revealed all the tests that will make up Season 4 of this circuit.

The Cádiz bay entered the SailGP calendar for its second campaign and will once again host the Spanish Grand Prix that will take place in mid-October 2023, between the 14th and 15th.

Cádiz, one of the most successful SailGP events, will be one of the twelve events, one more than Season 3 of a circuit that continues to expand year after year and that will pass through four continents. Thus, it will begin in June in Chicago and will culminate again in San Francisco Bay, the scene of the Grand Final in July 2024.

According to the organizers, this Season 4 will have a greater focus on the United States, with four events in total, with New York and the novelty of Los Angeles, which will be the second stop. After these two American events, the SailGP will land in Europe to compete in Saint-Tropez (France), Taranto (Italy), which returns, and Cádiz.

Subsequently, it will stop until 2024, starting in January in a place yet to be decided in the United Arab Emirates, to move to Oceania with appointments in Sydney (Australia) and Auckland (New Zealand). After passing through Bermuda, another novelty will arrive, a Grand Prix in Canada that will be announced in May and with Halifax, Kingston, Montreal and Victoria as possible venues, before closing in the United States (New York and San Francisco). Singapore, upon review, has been dropped from this season and the next.

The organizers also confirmed that once this season ends, the competition will stop, both for the Olympic Games in Paris and for the America’s Cup in Barcelona, to allow sailors to participate in both competitions. Thus, Season 5 is scheduled to start at the end of 2024.
