MADRID, 18 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Cádiz CF and Real Valladolid face each other this Friday (9:00 p.m.) on matchday 35 of LaLiga Santander, a duel of more than three points to stay alive and ‘get unstuck’ from relegation, an abyss that looms just one period, with the two teams forced to leave behind their bad dynamics to catch some air and face the final stretch with morale.
Maximum equality reigns between these two teams. The Andalusians are sixteenth with 35 points, the same as some pucelanos who mark salvation in seventeenth place. Both teams have sunk in recent times, in depression due to painful and dangerous defeats that have increased their anxiety to continue in ‘First’.
Sergio González’s men rush to their end of the four-match season after two consecutive defeats at home, at the Metropolitano (5-1) and Son Moix (1-0). The yellows have between eyebrows the 40 points that would bring the target closer, and to get closer they will have Nuevo Mirandilla as an ally. There he got his only victory (2-1, against Valencia) in the last six games, in which he has signed a poor balance of 4 points out of 18 possible.
This direct duel at home against Valladolid and the one on the last day against relegated Elche at the Martínez Valero are matches marked in red in a calendar in which they will also visit La Cerámica and host Celta. Thus, a victory against the pucelanos seems key to straighten the course again and fill their reserves of confidence and morale that are now somewhat scarce.
Cádiz presents the casualties of Roger Martí, Zaldua, Víctor Chust, Álex Fernández and Ocampo, due to injury, in addition to the sanctioned Iván Alejo. Thus, Bongonda would enter on the right, in an eleven that will once again be ‘in gala’ only with the doubt of Luis Hernández in defense. Alcaraz and Escalante would repeat in the engine room, while the offensive responsibility will fall on Ramos and Guardiola, regulars in Sergio González’s line-ups.
This duel will also be a ‘final’ for Real Valladolid, who in addition to Cádiz will have to face Almería, as a visitor, and Getafe, at home, two other direct rivals for salvation. Before ending his 2022-2023 season like this, he will receive the brand new champion FC Barcelona, now with nothing at stake.
Valladolid’s confidence is very touched after chaining four defeats in a row, especially due to the ways in which the last one occurred. Pucela’s team lost (0-3) in Zorrilla against Sevilla with a disastrous second half, although the locals were able to take the lead just before the break with a left-footed shot from Escudero, but the referee whistled the end of the first half just when the side hit the ball. The stadium and the club went into a rage against the arbitration team, and now they hope to turn the situation around without margin of error.
Pezzolano’s men need to give a coup of authority this Friday against a direct rival for permanence, after having squandered their valuable advantage over the red zone -it came to be fourteenth just three days ago-. This forces the blanquivioletas to at least match what Getafe, third from last with 34 points, does on this day to stay out of the unwanted relegation.
Anuar, Amallah and Luis Pérez will be out this Friday, while Darwin Machís, Joaquín Fernández and Jawad El Yamiq are doubtful. If they don’t recover in time, Javi Sánchez and Torres would once again be the starting central pair. Kenedy could start, since Pezzolano was satisfied with his work with the ball, in an attack made up of Gonzalo Plata and the alert Larin.
