Cadet Leonor de Borbón participates in the anniversary of La General: the details of her new appointment with the uniform

This second semester began for Leonor at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza at the San Gregorio Maneuver Field. The date marked this month on the La General calendar is the 142nd anniversary of its foundation, which is celebrated this Tuesday the 20th. The Academy of Zaragoza celebrates the 142nd anniversary of its foundation, which took place in 1882 by King Alfonso XII. The central solemn event will begin this Tuesday at 11:30 in the morning. It will be a military parade in the Parade Ground, in which the director of the institution, General Manuel Pérez López, will praise “the spirit of La General”, as the common and cohesive element of the officers who have been trained in this educational center, such as camaraderie, loyalty and exemplarity.

Pérez López will impose different decorations on both civil and military positions; will present the appointments of Honorary Knights and Ladies Cadets and the Grand Cross of Military Merit. The traditional ceremony of tribute to those who died in Spain and the parade of the Academy's Student Group will also be held.

The King, in Belgium, and the Queen, in Salamanca

This ceremony coincides with a day of maximum activity on the institutional agenda. Don Felipe travels to Mons, in the Walloon region of Belgium, where he will visit the Supreme Headquarters of the Allied Powers in Europe (SHAPE). For her part, Doña Letizia will move to Salamanca to join the activities of the “Talent Tour” 2024, of the Princess of Girona Foundation (FPdGI). She will preside over the presentation of the City of Spanish project and will tour the exhibition of Carmen Martín Gaite's legacy at the International Center of Spanish (CIE). Afterwards, at the Center for Performing Arts and Music (CAEM) the FPdGI award will be awarded in the Arts category.
