Burnley continues to dream of salvation after beating Southampton

MADRID, 21 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Burnley took a giant step to get closer to permanence in the Premier League after beating Southampton (2-0) on Thursday in a match postponed from matchday 30, which places them just one point behind Everton, which scores the safety zone in the English championship.

The team led by Mike Jackson took the victory thanks to goals from Connor Roberts, who opened the scoring in the 12th minute, and Nathan Collins, who closed the account just before half-time. In the second half, the locals scored the third but the VAR annulled the action.

The victory fuels Burnley’s faith with six games remaining in the championship, although Everton – who have been cut two points this day – still have one more game to play. Above, Leeds United with 33 points, seven margin over ‘the clarets’.
