Borussia Dortmund places Haaland in the showcase

Borussia Dortmund is beginning to get used to the idea of having to sell Erling Haaland. Seven points from the positions that would give access to the Champions League, the BVB faces a serious economic crisis, especially considering that it already had a significant deficit as a result of the Pandemic. For this reason, the bosses in western Germany, little by little, are changing their discourse and open the door to the Norwegian crack.

“We will lose between 80 and 90 million in revenue,” explained sports director Michael Zorc at the press conference prior to the Bundesliga clash this Saturday against Stuttgart, making it clear that “we must act accordingly.” Or rather: sell to Sancho or Haaland, the two stars in the ranks of the black-yellow ensemble that could lighten the boxes at Signal Iduna Park considerably.

Of course, as for Haaland, the BVB continues to hold firm. CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke recently made it clear that his intention is to retain the forward beyond the summer and Zorc, somewhat more cautious than the Borusser CEO, confirmed this. “I do not see the need to set deadlines. We have a clear position that we have already communicated to those involved,” he stressed. The soap opera goes for long. And Dortmund, little by little, gives his arm to twist.
