The former player of RC Celta Borja Oubiña has been officially named Legend of LaLiga Santander. The man from Vigo thus becomes part of the program “Ambassadors and Legends of LaLiga”, a unique initiative launched in 2014 that currently brings together the more than 30 historical players from LaLiga Santander clubs to represent the values of the competition and promote it throughout the world. Fernando Sanzdirector of the project, welcomed the exclusive team at an event at the LaLiga headquarters where they were presented with the shirt that distinguishes the members of the program.

“Borja Oubiña is a very special addition to the Legends of LaLiga Santander for the values he embodies, aligned with those of LaLiga: spirit of self-improvement, passion and commitment. His career from the lower categories of the club to the Technical Secretariat makes him a profile that adds a lot of value as a benchmark of the emotion that unites fans with their teams” he says Fernando Sanz.
Listen was a player of Celtic RC for 12 seasons, including the only season that the club competed in the Champions League (03-04) and also the historic 05-06 season, where he was one of the keys for the club to achieve one of its best historical positions, a sixth place that qualified the club to play the UEFA Cup (current Europa League). He was also essential in the team that achieved the club’s last promotion to LaLiga Santander in the 11-12 season. Since then, the club has not lost the category again: 2021-22 is its 11th consecutive season in the gold category. Retired in 2015, he has been part of the Technical Secretariat of the Celtic RC.
