José Bordalás, Getafe coach, regretted the defeat against Valladolid and acknowledged that they are in “a delicate situation”, although he admitted that “only losers surrender” and they are “winners and they are going to get up.”
Getafe, who have not won in their stadium since October 17, 2020, added another defeat at the Alfonso Pérez Coliseum against Valladolid, which comes out of relegation and, with 18 points, surpasses the Madrid team by one.
“We are not happy because it was not our best game and now we are in a delicate situation. We have been beaten by a rival in decline and now we have to be more than ever with the team because this is very long and we will have to think about recovering the next what we have lost, “said Bordalás, at a press conference.
The Alicante coach acknowledged that “right now you can't think of anything other than adding the highest number of points to get out of the low zone.”
“We will play a lot in Elche the next day but we are professionals and we must be prepared for good and bad moments. We must not be alarmed because there is a lot of championship left. We must change the dynamics and that is what we are at,” he declared.
“Against Valladolid we had high hopes for victory and we have tried to the end. Only losers surrender and we are not losers. We are winners. We must lift our spirits,” he said.
Finally, Bordalás avoided referring to specific names to reinforce the squad in the winter market, although he did say that they need players.
“The sports department, together with the president, is making the appropriate arrangements for this market. I see reality and if someone does not want to see it, I cannot do anything. The team needs fresh air and players who come to help,” he concluded.
