Bielsa: “The prevailing logic is that the rich are richer and the poor, poorer”

Marcelo bielsa, coach of the Leeds United, said that the European Super League should not surprise people because the “logic that prevails in the world is that the rich are richer at the cost of the weak being poorer.”

“It does not surprise me. The most powerful teams have achieved their power from the competition of the rest. When they do not need us to earn more money, the logic with which they work allows them to discard the one that no longer serves their objectives”, He said Bielsa in statements to Sky Sports before his team's game against him Liverpool.

“But it is a very common thing, not only in football. It should not surprise us, because it is something admitted and allowed. The fundamental problem is that the rich always aspire to be more powerful and without considering the consequences that that produces on the rest. Then, when they increase power, they claim privileges proportional to the weakness of those who are below, “he added.

“This does not happen from one day to the next. There are a lot of structures that limit inequality that have been made more flexible and granted and there comes a time when what is inevitable happens,” he stressed.

“There are two readings about this. The most powerful are so because of what they produce and what they summon. But the rest are indispensable and what gives health to the competition is the development of the weak, not the excess growth of the weak. The logic that prevails in the world, and football is not out of it, is that the rich are richer at the cost of the weak being poorer, “said the Argentine. “If that is what guides the world today, why is there so much wonder?”, He added.
