Betis-Valencia: Passion in La Cartuja

Valencia CF and Real Betis dispute today (10:00 p.m./Telecindo and DAZN) an unprecedented final of Copa del Rey, in which the Che will try to lift their ninth title and the Betis, the third, in what will be their eighteenth and fifth finals, respectively. Both won the last one they played: the Valencianists 2-1 against Barça in 2019, played at the Benito Villamarinand the Betis for the same score against Osasuna, after extra time, in 2005 at the Vicente Calderón.

Probable alignments of Betis-Valencia

For Sevilla the rain made its appearance yesterday and it seems that it will accompany until a while before the match, which can tarnish the previews of the fans, who will pack the more than 52,000 seats available in Charterhouse and will provide the final with an extraordinary atmosphere.

The Real Betis, that will act as a local and will have a little more support in the stands as its followers have obtained more ‘neutral’ tickets than those controlled by the federation For its sponsors, a slightly favorite party in the bets, it is not for nothing that they have added fifteen points more in the league tournament and are displaying a much more colorful and effective football than the Che, whom they thrashed 4-1 in the only confrontation recorded this season, on October 17.

The Betis coach has his entire squad available -except Montoya and Camarasa- and, barring any unexpected surprises, he will put his gala eleven into contention, with Claudio Bravo in goal, two long-backs such as Bellerín and Álex Moreno, Pezzella and Bartra in the back line, Guido Rodríguez in the pivot, William Carvalho in creation and ahead Canales, Fekir and Juanmi with freedom to link up with Borja Iglesias. On the bench will keep Pellegrini a good offensive arsenal, with Joaquín, Tello, Willian José, Rodri or Ruibal, ready to jump during the match, as well as Guardado, Sabaly, Miranda, Edgar, Víctor Ruiz, Paul or Lainez, who together with the goalkeepers Rui Silva and Joel Robles complete the 25 players that the Chilean coach has at his disposal for the final.

In the Valencian ranks the main doubt of José Bordalás lay in Gabriel Paulista, one of the bastions of his defensive system, injured in Vallecas and who in recent training sessions has been rushing his options so as not to miss the final. The coach himself assured yesterday that Paulista reaches the final in conditions and that he could even be a starter.

It was also doubtful Guedeshis best offensive reference, since he ended up touched against Osasuna and no longer played against Villarreal so his contest today is not assured, although it is very possible that he will force for the very final.

The coach from Alicante will surely resort again to a defense with three central defenders -especially if he recovers Paulista- to try to annul the offensive power of the Real Betiswith special markings on Nabil Fekir and Sergio Canalesits most talented footballers.

In this way, the eleven che can be the one formed by Mamardashvili in goal; with Diakhaby, Paulista and Alderete from power plants; Thierry as the right lane and Gayá on the left; a double pivot formed by Guillamón and Carlos Soler, with Bryan Gil as hitch; and as a pair of strikers Guedes and Hugo Duro.

The team of Pellegrini is called to be the one who takes the initiative and the bordalas, to continually try to cut the game and take it to their field. If the Betis score first they will have a large part of the way done, because of 22 times that they did it this season in 20 they took the victory and only in two others they yielded a draw.

The Valencia, meanwhile, only won 7 of the 13 games in which they started scoring in LaLiga (they tied two and lost four). But this is the Copa and the last three finals that the che have won, two of them were won in Seville. The one of 2019 in Benito Villamarin and the one in 1999 in La Cartuja, the first to be played on the stage that today hosts the final again.
