MADRID, 18 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Real Betis beat Getafe (2-1) on Wednesday in the postponed matchday 3 of LaLiga EA Sports to chain two victories and increase their confidence in their game at the Benito Villamarín, where the Madrid team suffered a lot.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men were strong at home and made the most of their victory against Leganés last week with another victim from the south of the capital. Betis were better and enjoyed many scoring opportunities, always or almost always with Gio Lo Celso as the protagonist.
The Argentine midfielder made his team play and, although it took a while, the goals came in the second half through Lo Celso himself, who in the end also took charge of the finishing. The Rosario native did everything and Betis thus added eight points, eighth in the table, while Getafe remains on three.
The blue-and-whites will partly blame Pulido Santana, who gave his team yellow cards at the start, awarded the penalty that made it 1-0 and ended up sending off José Bordalás. However, the Getafe coach has work to do because in addition to the lack of goals, with hardly any chances until the final push, this time they failed at the back.
Betis came out on top with Abde and pinned the visitors back in their own half. The excitement generated by Vitor Roque was diminished by the clear chances missed by the former FC Barcelona player, with David Soria being the best of the Madrid players with his saves.
The second half was no different. Betis continued to attack with Lo Celso and Vitor Roque, with a bicycle kick from Llorente, until a forced handball from Milla led to the referee awarding the penalty. Lo Celso fired in and shortly after added a brace from the edge of the box, with Getafe trying to get into the opponent’s half.
The return of Borja Mayoral helped in that mission that seemed impossible and pride came out with the expulsion of Bordalás. In stoppage time Arambarri also made it 2-1 and the blues, in relegation places, also headed the last of Uche and Mayoral himself without finding the equalizer.
