Betis looks for the Champions zone against bottom Levante

Real Betis will try to add this Sunday its third victory in a week against Levante that has not won in LaLiga since April and has already chained 22 games (10 draws and 12 defeats) without knowing the victory, which has relegated it to the Last place in a league classification in which Pellegrini’s men have the option of taking fourth place and entering the Champions zone, at least for a while, in case of taking the three points at stake this Sunday at Benito Villamarín (2pm, Movistar LaLiga).

The Verdiblanco team is proving to be extremely reliable against the teams it surpasses in the standings (it has seven victories, three draws and a single defeat, in Villarreal), while it has lost the three games played against those that precede it. Levante, meanwhile, has only been able to scratch two draws on their trips (in Cádiz and Elche), counting their other five outings as defeats, although at the Ciutat de Valencia they have been able to stand up to Real Madrid (3 -3) and Atlético (2-2).

Those of Pellegrini want to maintain the good path traced since the year 2021 started, only interrupted with the three defeats against Atlético, Leverkusen and Sevilla before the break- and for this they must give a good account of a Levante that needs to score as it is so as not to sink more in the queue of the ranking.

The Betic coach will once again pull massive rotations, some justified by the seven casualties he has, especially on the right side, where he cannot count on any of the three on the payroll -Bellerín, Martín Montoya and Sabaly-, so that he will have to resort to the versatility of Aitor Ruibal, a striker whom Commander Morales, Roger, Bardhi and company will try to tickle. Along with Ruibal, players like Rui Silva, Víctor Ruiz, Álex Moreno, William Carvalho, Fekir, Juanmi or Willian José will regain ownership this Sunday after resting – all except the goalkeeper, who left for the injured Bravo – on Thursday against Ferencvaros.

In the ranks of Levante, Javi Pereira comes with the loss of Melero and willing to raise war against Betis, playing the attack with impudence, because only victory is worth them and the granota coach is aware that locking himself up against the Verdiblancos does not usually bear fruit and you have to go look for them upstairs, which will surely lead to an open game and many alternatives.
