Betis and Valencia fight for Europe and Almería and Granada want to get out of relegation

Alavés and Osasuna face each other to try to remove the danger zone

MADRID, 30 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Betis and Valencia will fight this Sunday at the Benito Villamarín (9:00 p.m.) for a victory that will bring them closer to the European zone, in an eighth day of LaLiga EA Sports in which Deportivo Alavés and Osasuna face off (4:15 p.m.) to try to stop their bad streaks and avoid relegation, where Almería are mired, now without Vicente Moreno, and Granada, who meet at the Power Horse Stadium (2:00 p.m.).

The green and white are coming out of their marathon of matches quite badly; They fell resoundingly against FC Barcelona (5-0) and later suffered another defeat in their debut in the Europa League against Rangers (1-0), and then added only two points against Cádiz (1-1) and Granada (1- 1).

Thus, after three rounds without victory, Manuel Pellegrini’s team has nine points, three away from the continental positions. Sparta Prague awaits him on Thursday, but first he will have to focus on a Valencia team that he could not beat in either of the two games last season.

The ‘che’ team, which has accumulated one more point (10) than the Andalusians, started the season well but was declining, and has added only four of the last 15 points at play. The midweek defeat against Real Sociedad (0-1) marked the second consecutive loss without winning.

Rubén Baraja will have the absence of Selim Amallah, sent off against the San Sebastián team, and the absences of the injured José Luis Gayà, Sergi Canós, Jesús Vázquez and Alberto Mari, with the doubts of André Almeida and Thierry Correia. The Chilean coach, for his part, will not have Nabil Fekir, Luiz Henrique, Willian José or Youssouf Sabaly at his disposal.

DUEL OF COLISTS AT THE POWER HORSE STADIUM

At the Power Horse Stadium, Almería, bottom of the category (2), and Granada, penultimate classified (4), look for a respite from their dramatic situation, which keeps them three and one point, respectively, from the zone of permanence.

The Almería team is the only First Division team that has not yet inaugurated its victory log, a circumstance that has precipitated the dismissal of Vicente Moreno after the midweek defeat against Sevilla (5-1). In addition, it is the team with the most goals tied with its rival this Sunday (18).

The reserve team’s coach, Alberto Lasarte, will take charge of the bench this Sunday while waiting for the new coach to arrive. He will be without Martin Svidersky, injured, and will keep an eye on the injured Lucas Robertone, César Montes and Marc Pubill.

The Nasrids, who have only had one win and at home, are on a four-match streak without a win in which they have only gotten one point, this week against Betis (1-1). Now, Paco López’s men will try to reverse it with the only absence of Jesús Vallejo.

ALAVÉS AND OSASUNA WANT TO TAKE A LEAP

Finally, Deportivo Alavés (7) and Osasuna (7) go to their meeting in Mendizorrotza with the intention of putting an end to their bad streaks of results, which have left them only two points above the danger positions.

Luis García Plaza’s men, who will have the only casualties of the long-term injured Giuliano Simeone and Jon Guridi, have achieved six of the seven points accumulated so far at home, where they hope to repeat victory this Sunday after three days without achieving it – two defeats and a draw.

The Navarrese team, meanwhile, has already accumulated four rounds without winning, where it has only achieved one point, and hopes to hold on to the fact that its only two league victories of the season have been signed, precisely, away from El Sadar. The suspended Chimy Ávila and the injured Unai García, Darko Brasanac and Moi Gómez will be the absences for Jagoba Arrasate.
