Munar said goodbye to Francisco Cerúndolo, the Valencian’s rival in the quarterfinals

The Spanish tennis player Bernabé Zapata defeated Argentine Diego Schwartzman (6-1, 6-3) this Thursday to advance to the quarterfinals of the Buenos Aires tournament, where he will face fellow local Francisco Cerúndolo, who defeated the Spanish player in the second round. Jaume Munar by 6-2 and 6-1.
Zapata took a second step in the Argentine capital, which he could not take last week in Córdoba, with a victory in addition to carats, despite the low hours of his rival. Schwartzman, an idol in his house, showed the problems his tennis is going through in a weak match taken advantage of by a forceful Zapata.
The Valencian broke as he wanted the bad serve of the South American in the first set, with a 6-1 in just over half an hour. Schwartzman’s fall continued in the second set, where he found himself down 3-0. After a first threat of reaction, the ‘Little’ clung to the track with a second ‘break’ when the Spaniard served to win.
The Argentine, champion in 2021 and a regular in the last finals, saved a match point but later, with his serve, delivered the match. Zapata will meet in the quarterfinals with Francisco Cerúndolo who seems to have recovered from his physical discomfort in Córdoba and who struck down a Munar without an option against the now top local favorite.
