Benzema-Havertz, goal and football duel

MADRID, 11 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid and Chelsea will live this Wednesday (9:00 p.m.) the first chapter of the Champions League quarterfinals, a duel at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in which the Merengue striker Karim Benzema and the ‘blue’ footballer Kai Havertz will be protagonists as offensive references for their teams, also contributing a lot of quality association football.

The Madrid ‘nine’, with 25 goals, and the German, with 9, are the top two scorers for their teams in all competitions. The data evens out, and falls, looking only at the Champions League, since Benzema has only celebrated 3 goals in Europe, compared to Havertz’s 2. Despite being low numbers, both stand out in what they contribute offensively to the team in each game.

In the European Cup, Benzema has generated 4 goals (3G 1A) for his team or what is the same, he participates in 0.5 goals every 90 minutes. For his part, Havertz has not distributed any assistance so far in the competition, so his participation in terms of goalscoring drops to 0.25 every 90 minutes.

Although if we look at the expected participation in goals (expected goals + expected assists) every 90 minutes, the performance of the Chelsea striker amounts to 0.83 and that of the Real Madrid striker to 0.99. The German striker also improves in the shooting section, as the ‘blue’ player who takes the most shots per game, with a total of 3.17 every 90 minutes. In the case of Benzema, he borders on 5 shots per game (4.7).

On the other hand, both the French and the German shine in statistical sections of distribution, proving to be key players in the creation and associative play of their teams, far from the essential role of a ‘nine’ of only scoring goals. Havertz makes 1.43 key passes every 90 minutes, with a 78 percent accuracy, while Benzema makes 1.71 key passes and his accuracy is 87 percent.

And it is that in offensive creation, both forwards are very influential for their teams, with 20.5 passes in the last third by Benzema, and 12.8 in the case of Havertz, figures much higher than the average for the forwards in the competition.
