MADRID, 12 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The cyclists George Bennett (UAE Team Emirates) and Luke Durbridge (Team BikeExchange-Jayco) have not taken the start of the tenth stage of the Tour de France on Tuesday, which takes place between Morzine and Megève over 148.1 kilometers, after testing positive in coronavirus.

After the previous withdrawals of Guillaume Martin (Cofidis), Vegard Stake Laengen (UAE Team Emirates) and Geoffrey Bouchard (AG2R Citroën Team), the coronavirus continues to take its toll on this Tour and its leader, Tadej Pogacar, continues to lose squires.

Without Stake Laengen, the UAE Team Emirates now loses Bennett, a proven climber who had to help the two-time reigning champion of the French round in his search for a third consecutive Tour.

In addition, Frenchman Alexis Vuillermoz (Team TotalEnergies), with a skin infection that required surgery, and Ben O’Connor (AG2R Citroën Team), due to recurrent pain in the buttock, did not leave this Tuesday either.
