José Mourinho has emerged as a possible target for Everton, if the English club decides to dismiss Rafa Benítez, according to Mirror. The Portuguese took over from Roma in July but would be willing to return to England if the right opportunity presented itself.
The pressure on Benitez has increased after the Merseyside derby, in which Everton were beaten 4-1 by Liverpool in midweek. That loss extended Everton’s lousy streak to seven losses and two draws in their last 10 Premier League games. Home fans were upset and again took their anger out on the Goodison Park coach and management.
Should the rumors about Everton’s interest in Mourinho bear fruit, it would mean the Portuguese coach’s fourth club in the Premier League after his two spells at Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham.
