Belén García: “I am confident that running at home will be a talisman to achieve a good result”

MADRID, 22 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish pilot Belén García (360 Racing) faces this Thursday and Friday the fourth round of the Michelin Le Mans Cup, which will be held at the Motorland Aragón circuit, where the Catalan hopes to “achieve a good result” since she runs “at home “, after” a very tough season of academic exams.

The Michelin Le Mans Cup arrives at MotorLand Aragón, the second event in Spain of the competition, and where García will once again fight to prove a good rhythm on one of the reference tracks for the world of resistance, since it is here where the main Teams prepare for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The pilot from l’Ametlla del Vallès has focused this summer on her studies in telematics engineering, which she will park for a few days after “a very tough exam season”. “In fact, they have changed the date of the last one to next week so that I can run, for which I am very grateful to the teachers at La Salle Campus Barcelona, and then my well-deserved vacation will arrive. But before MotorLand arrives, a race that I really want to disconnect”, valued the Spanish.

The penultimate test of the course will bring García and Mark Richards together again at 360 Racing, after the absence of the British in Paul Ricard, with the same “challenge” of the entire season: “to show the rhythm of free practice, but that in classification or race does not end due to different circumstances”. “I trust that the fact of running at home is a talisman to achieve a good result”, wished the Catalan.

“It is a very technical circuit, but in which I do not have much experience, so every lap in free practice will help speed up my adaptation to the track. Between studies and exams, I have dedicated all the time I could to training in the simulator. My last references here are from my time in the Spanish F4 and a GT meeting, although many years have passed”, García analyzed the track.

One of the great difficulties on the track will be the heat, with temperatures close to 38ºC during qualifying on Friday and that can rise to 40ºC in free practice the previous day. “I am lucky to arrive well prepared thanks to the help of the Sant Cugat CAR team, who control my hydration and provide me with the necessary supplements. Good shape will be essential to maintain maximum concentration and ride fast while managing traffic,” he added.

The action with 40 cars at MotorLand will start on Thursday with the two free practice sessions in the morning and afternoon, respectively. The following day, qualifying will take place at 10:50 am and the 110-minute race will start at 5:40 pm.
