Beautiful bench balls, but the Blazers lost badly to the Bickerstaff Bunch

Beautiful bench balls, but the Blazers lost badly to the Bickerstaff Bunch

The Portland Trailblazers beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in a close game on Wednesday night at the Moda Center thanks to great play from their bench.

Jabari Walker, Matisse Thybulle, as well as Duop Reath really delivered. They scored a total of 41 points and led several scoring runs throughout the night.

They did beat the Blazers within the lane, though, with their stars. Portland’s bench runs were not enough to keep the team afloat. Donovan Mitchell’s scoring helped a lot. They couldn’t quickly move ahead.

It was too late for Portland because the Cavaliers scored 60 points in the paint and they only made 37.4% of their shots. It was 109-95 for the Blazers. They are now 3-8 on the season.

Mitchell scored 34 points, which was twice as many as Portland’s top scorer, Jerami Grant, who scored 17.

Bickerstaff said, “We want to make the team better.” “We want to hire guys with skills.”

We need guys who can play, make shots, score, grab rebounds, and do other things that will help us in these situations. “Those are the kinds of guys we want to find.”

Even though the Rockets have a lot of players who can play power forward, they really need help in that spot. Beasley has had a hard time finding his place in the NBA.

Beasley was an All-World scorer in college and was picked by the Miami Heat with the second overall pick in the 2008 Draft.

In the one year he spent at Kansas State, he averaged 26.2 points, 12.4 rebounds, or 37.9% shooting.

Even though Beasley is good at what he does, he has had problems in the past. In 2013, he was detained on suspicion of having marijuana on him. In 2014, a case of sexual abuse against him was dropped.

He’s not very good at defense, so he’ll fit right in. Beasley is interesting because he is capable of scoring and his range has gotten better, which are two things the Rockets don’t have at this point right now.

During his seven-year NBA run with Miami, Minnesota, as well as Phoenix, he only made 34.3% of his three-point shots.

However, as expected, he has shot better from three in China. Beasley got 34 points in a Heat game near the end of last season.

The Blazers had a rough start because they only made one out of their first nine shots. It took advantage of opportunities and sometimes worked, but the defense couldn’t make up for the lack of points.

Through the middle of the time, Portland was behind 17–8. They didn’t have any offensive boards. Their defense in Cleveland essentially had them locked down.

Donovan Mitchell as well as Evan Mobley made almost all of their shots during that time. Overall, the Cavaliers made 60% of their shots from the court and more than 40% of their shots from beyond the line.

When it came to stopping Cleveland’s guards, Portland’s perimeter defense was terrible. There was a lot.

Before they started focusing on Portland’s dribblers and making players who knew they had to handle the ball because they had no other choice turn it over. Portland could have always thrown it out for a three, yet you understand how that goes.

In the last 3:30 of the first, Portland’s bench players caused a couple of mistakes that led to run-outs. This made the score look a lot better.

They were never really able to stop the Cavs after that. The scoreboard showed that Cleveland was ahead 30–25 after one.

Once again, the second team picked up right where that they left off in the first, forcing mistakes and running out. The Blazers quickly got back within one point, 30–29, with two easy baskets.

Three minutes later, Matisse Thybulle hit a corner to tie the game at 32. He was having his best game thus far this season.

The offense moved faster because of turnovers. The way it looked was much better. In the end, the Blazers would get ahead by 4 points.
