Beatriz Archidona: “Ana Rosa is calm with the audience and is optimistic; we knew this was going to be like this”

Beatriz Archidona is a rising value in the new Mediaset. In addition to accompanying Ana Rosa in TardeARthe journalist has taken charge of the new Friday with Santi Acosta. “Not spoiled, but I do feel overwhelmed, grateful, excited and eager to fight and live up to it,” she tells Informalia about the trust that the chain has placed in her. During Christmas, Archidona presents the program that Quintana usually hosts in the midst of a battle for audiences against Sonsoles Ónega. “Ana Rosa is very calm and she is optimistic. How do you face Christmas?

It is my favorite time of year, because there have always been a lot of celebrations in my house. We are about getting together, remembering people who are no longer here… they are very special dates. And with children, much more. Although this Christmas is going to be much more intense, because I am going to be working every day.

Are you going to continue on Friday and TardeAR?

We are not going to stop. In TardeAR I will be from Monday to Thursday and in Friday We will also continue accompanying the public.

Are you closing your best professional year? What balance do you make?

It has been a great year with the premiere of TardeAR and now Friday, which has been the icing on the cake for a wonderful year for me. I couldn't be more grateful to Mediaset for the trust. Furthermore, it has allowed me to change content, because before I did more politics. My balance is spectacular.

I don't know if you can ask for more from 2024… In any case, what do you ask of it?

Stay as I am! I can not ask for more. Plus, everything is going very well.

Does being in two big projects and having the network bet on you make you feel like the darling of the new Mediaset?

And with Ana Rosa and Santi by their side! What it makes me feel is a lot of self-demand. You have to live up to it and work hard, because they are long programs, with a lot of content, varied… Not spoiled, but overwhelmed, grateful, excited and eager to fight and live up to it.

What is it like working hand in hand with Ana Rosa? What is she like as a colleague and boss?

She is like a godmother and I have learned a lot from her. I have removed many prejudices and I have learned that the content you give does not matter: what is important is how you do it, with what rigor and with what respect you transmit it. You can talk about everything and you don't have to have prejudices. I have been working with Ana Rosa for 9 years and I never stop learning.

You are the example of the commitment that Unicorn makes to the production company's workers, because it always tries to pull from its quarry and promote its people…

Is the worst thing about working with Ana Rosa having to put up with her nephew?

No… in the end you have to understand the humor, which we had lost lately. We have to listen to criticism, especially if it is constructive and humorous. In this case, it is someone who is inside and wants to build. Plus, there's nothing like laughing at yourself.

How did you get the opportunity to play Friday?

I was surprised, because it was a prime time show at heart, but then they explained to me that they wanted to do a white heart and with great guests. It is a very ambitious goal.

Are you happy with the audience for Friday?

It is working spectacularly, especially with the tough competition we have. I think people wanted us to return to the heart of all life. We are very happy with the audience and we are going to continue fighting to not lower the bar.

TardeAR is little by little in a positive trend. How are you living from the hearings every afternoon?

Ana Rosa is very calm and optimistic. And that is the attitude that the entire team has. This is a long-distance race. We are making a very good program, with content that people like and we are very happy. Little by little it penetrates the public and that is reflected in the audiences. But we already knew that this was going to be like this. What we want is to make a good program and for people to like it.
