Bautista says goodbye to Paris-Bercy against an overwhelming Hurkacz

MADRID, 1 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Castellón tennis player Roberto Bautista said goodbye this Wednesday to the 1,000 Masters in Paris (France), played on a hard court, after losing in two sets (6-3 and 6-2) against the Polish Hubert Hurkacz, who did not need even an hour game to get rid of the Spanish.

Bautista returned to the circuit in Paris with victory this Monday four months later, an inertia that he could not maintain in the second round of the French tournament, now without any Spanish representative. An overwhelming Hurkacz, still with options to compete in the ATP Finals, gave the Castellón player no options, always in tow and without engaging the rhythm set by the world number 11, with 19 direct serves – to reach 1,000 on the circuit – in 56 minutes of play.

In the fourth game of the opening set, the Pole took advantage of his first break ball, an advantage that he maintained without any problem throughout the set, closing a resounding 6-3 to leave Bautista very touched, with only 15 winners for the 33 by Hurkacz.

And if the first set was fast, the second and final set was even faster (24 minutes). The Polish bomber continued to be very powerful with his serve and broke the Spaniard’s serve in the first game. In this round, Bautista was able to hook himself with his only break option, but he did not convert it and the Wroclaw gale continued strong, confirming his superiority with another break and closing the second set 6-2.
