Real Betis centre-back Marc Bartra underwent surgery this Thursday for his partial injury to the Achilles tendon in his right leg, so he will need “a period of post-surgical immobilization and subsequent rehabilitation”, according to a statement from the club.
“Marc Bartra has undergone successful surgery on his partial injury to the Achilles tendon in his right leg as a result of Haglund’s syndrome. The operation took place in Barcelona and the player was accompanied by doctor José Manuel Álvarez, responsible for the medical services of Real Betis Balompié,” the entity reported on its website.
After the operation, Bartra will need “a period of post-surgical immobilization and subsequent rehabilitation”, so his time out is unknown and “will depend on the evolution in the following phases of his recovery”.
Specifically, the defender suffered an inflammation of the fluid-filled sac (bursa) located at the back of the heel bone or calcaneus, associated with a deformity or bony prominence of the posterosuperior area of this area, which is called Haglund’s deformity. .
